What is a Solmate ?

Solmates is a peer to peer solar gifting program underpinned by a small but powerful portable solar light that is distributed through charities and NGOs to energy poor areas and villages that live off the grid.

Our Solmate lights are gifted via corporate and school donations to children who have no lighting.

The lights assist the children and their families to study at night, use amenities in the dark, and lead a healthier life as they don’t need to use kerosene. Using less expensive kerosene also saves their family money!

The Solmate light is a small but powerful life changing device for village children. In terms of knowing where you charitable contributions go and who receives them, it couldn't offer a more direct link.

For a few dollars, a first world child can change the life of a third world child, have ongoing contact with their recipient and see the smile on their faces.

It links kids with kids to create Solmates across the globe.
